SEI Begins First Collaboration with Virginia State University Through New NSF TIP Award

Strategic Evaluations is pleased to announce a new collaboration with Virginia State University through a newly funded National Science Foundation Targeted Infusion Project (TIP) titled Infusing Computational Chemistry across the Chemistry Curriculum at Virginia State University.

The three-year project will support efforts to strengthen and modernize chemistry education by integrating computational chemistry concepts and experiences throughout the university’s chemistry curriculum. The initiative reflects a growing national emphasis on preparing students with interdisciplinary and computationally grounded scientific skills that align with evolving workforce and research needs.

As part of the project, SEI will serve as the lead external evaluation partner, supporting the development of performance metrics, data collection strategies, and continuous improvement processes throughout the life of the grant. The evaluation effort will help document project outcomes, identify effective practices, and provide actionable insights to support long-term sustainability and institutional impact.

This award also represents SEI’s first project partnership with Virginia State University, marking an exciting new collaboration with one of the nation’s leading historically Black colleges and universities. SEI looks forward to working alongside the project team to support innovation in STEM education and contribute to the advancement of computational learning opportunities for students.
